🌿How Does Navel Acupuncture Treat Menstrual Disorders & Cycle Imbalance Problems ?

In clinical practice, navel acupuncture has shown reliable regulatory effects in supporting menstrual health and cycle balance.

From a holistic perspective, menstrual conditions are not isolated issues,
but reflect the body’s overall rhythm, hormonal regulation, and emotional state.

Navel acupuncture works through whole-body regulation,
helping restore balance rather than targeting a single symptom.

Clinically, this approach is commonly applied to:

  • Premenstrual discomfort and mood changes

  • Menstrual pain and abdominal cramping

  • Irregular cycles, abnormal bleeding, or delayed periods

  • Amenorrhea and cycle suppression (non-pregnancy related)

  • Menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbance, and emotional instability

Treatment focuses on supporting kidney and liver regulation,
promoting smooth circulation, and helping the body realign with its natural rhythm over time.

It is important to note that long-term hormone use, contraceptives, or prior surgeries
may affect treatment response and should be discussed before care.

Overall, navel acupuncture emphasizes long-term regulation and functional recovery,
supporting a more stable, comfortable, and balanced menstrual cycle.

🌿How Many Treatments Are Usually Needed?

In general, menstrual cycle–related concerns require a period of ongoing regulation in order to achieve more stable and meaningful results. In clinical practice, reaching an ideal outcome often involves treatment across one to three menstrual cycles.

The specific treatment duration and number of sessions vary depending on the individual and the nature of the condition. Factors such as personal constitution, symptom pattern, condition history, and response to treatment all influence the course of care, and therefore treatment timelines cannot be standardized.

In most cases, patients experience some degree of positive change after each navel acupuncture session. These changes may include reduced premenstrual discomfort, milder menstrual symptoms, or an overall improvement in physical and emotional balance.

It is important to note that long-term use of hormonal contraceptives, hormone injections, or a history of certain surgeries may affect treatment outcomes and introduce variability in response. These factors require special attention during clinical assessment.

🌿 Treatment Notes

Before Treatment

If you have had any recent medical tests, imaging, or are currently receiving other treatments, please inform your acupuncturist.
Please review the precautions for Navel Acupuncture before treatment

During Treatment

Sensations vary from person to person.
Mild pain or soreness during needle insertion may occur and is normal.

In general, the more relaxed you are, the milder the sensation.
Navel Acupuncture is a safe acupuncture treatment.
Please stay relaxed and avoid unnecessary tension.

After Treatment

After treatment, it is recommended to take the rest of the day relatively easy. Avoid overexertion, staying up late, or intense physical activity, and allow the body time to adjust.

During menstrual regulation or around the menstrual period, keeping the lower abdomen and legs warm is important. Avoid exposure to cold environments or prolonged cold air.

If there are noticeable changes in menstrual patterns, physical sensations, or any discomfort during the course of treatment, please communicate with your practitioner so that adjustments can be made when necessary.

Daily care

Diet should remain light and regular. It is advisable to avoid overly cold, spicy, or strongly stimulating foods, as these may interfere with digestive and hormonal balance.

Emotional state and daily routine play an important role in menstrual regulation. Maintaining relatively stable emotions and a regular sleep schedule can help support and consolidate treatment effects.

Gentle daily activity and consistent routines are encouraged, while excessive fatigue or irregular lifestyle patterns may reduce the stability of long-term results.
