  • Nasal blockage with less comfortable breathing

✓ More severe symptoms involving the sinuses and head–facial region

  • Sinus pressure, congestion, or a persistent sense of blockage

  • Head heaviness, pressure, or mental cloudiness

  • Discomfort around the eyes, tearing, or a sense of pressure

  • Breathing difficulties that affect sleep and emotional state

At this stage, symptoms are often more intense and longer-lasting.
In some cases, nasal symptoms may not be prominent,
while overall discomfort and head–facial symptoms become more noticeable.

🌿How Does Navel Acupuncture Treat Allergic Rhinitis & Nasal Problems ?

Allergic rhinitis is well known for being difficult to fully resolve and prone to recurrence.
Many people experience repeated flare-ups with seasonal changes, environmental triggers, fatigue, or stress, even after long-term treatment.

From a clinical perspective, navel acupuncture shows particularly strong and consistent results in this category of conditions.

Rather than focusing on isolated nasal symptoms alone, navel acupuncture approaches allergic rhinitis and nasal problems through systemic regulation, addressing the underlying imbalance that allows symptoms to recur.

  • In clinical practice, the regulatory effects of navel acupuncture for allergic rhinitis and nasal problems are usually reflected in the following aspects:

  • Improving nasal airflow and overall breathing comfort, emphasizing functional openness rather than simply suppressing local symptoms

  • Supporting immune and systemic regulatory balance, helping reduce excessive sensitivity to external stimuli

  • Enhancing the body’s overall adaptability and recovery capacity, allowing symptoms to gradually lessen and their duration to shorten

On this basis, navel acupuncture often helps the body—across different timing factors such as seasonal changes, lifestyle fluctuations, and environmental shifts—to gradually establish a more stable and sustainable internal state through the principles and methods of Yi-medicine–based regulation.

This ability to support long-term stability, rather than short-term suppression, is an important reason why navel acupuncture demonstrates particularly strong clinical performance in allergic rhinitis and related nasal conditions.

🌿How Many Treatments Are Usually Needed?

In clinical practice, the number of treatments needed varies depending on the severity, duration, and individual response.

For milder or early-stage allergic rhinitis, noticeable improvement is often observed within 1–3 sessions.

For more persistent or severe symptoms, 5–7 sessions are commonly needed to achieve clear and stable relief.

When symptoms have a long disease course, are accompanied by other underlying conditions, or have shown repeated recurrence over time,
a longer-term, regular treatment plan is usually recommended to support sustained regulation rather than short-term relief.

For individuals with seasonal patterns of onset, treatment is often most effective when arranged in alignment with seasonal changes, helping the body prepare and adapt before symptoms intensify.

Treatment frequency and duration are always adjusted based on individual response, rather than following a fixed preset number.

🌿 Treatment Notes

Before Treatment

If you have had any recent medical tests, imaging, or are currently receiving other treatments, please inform your acupuncturist.

Please review the precautions for Navel Acupuncture before treatment

During Treatment

Sensations vary from person to person.

Mild pain or soreness during needle insertion may occur and is normal.

In general, the more relaxed you are, the milder the sensation.

Navel Acupuncture is a safe acupuncture treatment.

Please stay relaxed and avoid unnecessary tension.

After Treatment

After treatment, allow the body adequate time to rest and avoid returning immediately to strenuous activity on the same day.

Drinking warm water after treatment may help support overall regulation.

Please avoid excessive fatigue, exposure to cold air, wind, or sudden temperature changes, especially around the head and nasal area.

Some patients may experience mild, temporary responses such as fatigue, light nasal discharge, or subtle changes in nasal airflow.

These responses are generally part of the body’s adjustment process and usually resolve on their own.

If any discomfort feels unusual or persistent, please contact your practitioner.

From a traditional Chinese medicine perspective, chronic nasal and allergic conditions are often associated with cold accumulation and long-term weakening of the Lung system, frequently aggravated by habitual exposure to cold environments or cold foods and drinks.

During the treatment period, it is recommended to:

  • Keep the body warm, especially the neck, chest, and nasal area

  • Avoid excessive intake of cold or iced beverages, alcohol, and cold foods

  • Choose warm or room-temperature drinks and meals when possible

  • Engage in moderate, regular physical activity to support circulation and overall resilience

These supportive measures play an important role in stabilizing treatment results and helping the body maintain a more balanced and sustainable regulatory state.
