🌿How Does Navel Acupuncture Treat Face & Jaw Pain?

Because the treatment logic of Traditional Chinese Medicine is different from that of Western medicine,
Navel Acupuncture does not focus only on the painful area of the face or jaw.

Instead, it works by restoring whole-body regulation,
allowing face and jaw pain symptoms to ease naturally and sustainably.

In clinical practice, face and jaw pain are commonly approached by functional patterns,
rather than by location alone or a single diagnosis:

I. Functional Face & Jaw Pain

Pain related to muscle tension, nervous system imbalance, stress, or functional dysfunction, including:

Temporomandibular joint–related pain (TMJ)

Facial muscle tension or jaw tightness

Stress-related facial or jaw discomfort

➡️ Most common type, usually responds well to treatment

II. Trigeminal Neuralgia

Nerve-related facial pain characterized by sharp, electric, or stabbing sensations,
often affecting one side of the face.

➡️ Treatment focuses on regulating nervous system balance rather than suppressing symptoms

III. Other Facial Pain

Pain, pressure, tightness, or discomfort involving the face, cheek, forehead, temples, or around the eyes,
without clear structural abnormalities.

➡️ Often functional in nature and suitable for a regulatory treatment approach

Through this whole-body regulatory approach, Navel Acupuncture helps to:

Regulate nervous system function

Reduce muscle tension and abnormal nerve sensitivity

Support stable and sustainable relief of face and jaw pain

🌿How Many Treatments Are Usually Needed?

The following are general clinical references:

Acute face or jaw pain
Often shows clear improvement within 1–3 sessions.

Chronic or recurrent face & jaw pain
Commonly stabilizes after 3–6 sessions.

Stubborn or complex face & jaw pain
(Long history, multiple contributing factors, such as TMJ dysfunction or nerve involvement)
Usually requires 1–2 courses of treatment, about 5–10 sessions.

Face & jaw pain related to trauma, surgery, or confirmed structural findings
Requires individualized evaluation based on medical findings.

The number of sessions varies from case to case.
